Case Study: Perennial Allergic Rhinitis (PAR)

To maintain subject interest in a two-year Perennial Allergic Rhinitis (PAR) study, Merge created a robust subject retention kit to supplement the ongoing recruitment program. The study covered a broad age range, so items were selected to appeal to a diverse audience – from tote bags and desk puzzles to sunglasses and eyeglass cleaner (for ophthalmologic visits). Patients also received quarterly newsletters containing study reminders, allergy management tips and activities for long study days. Subjects and the study sites responded well to this patient retention approach and the study sponsor was extremely pleased with retention rates.
